Wood Pigeon - 4 over
Carrion Crow - 4 over
Curlew - 1 over
Pheasant - 8

Both Green and Wood Sandpiper present until at least 10.30 am. Also 7 species of warbler including Grasshopper and Lesser Whitethroat.

Hi Steve,

Lesser Whitethroat singing in the hedge between the car park and the hide.
Whitethroats -just about everywhere from car park to the new works.
Blackcap - just behind the hide
Grasshopper Warbler- I was lucky enough to see it as well as hear it reeling. Frm the hide turn left and just beyond the scrape in the reeds from which it flew out and in to the nettles and vegetation in the corner.
Sedge Warbler - loads from the edge of the scrape all over the reedbed and grass area.
Reed warblers - one singing near the gropper and at least another 2 in the tall reeds halfway along the path to the new works.
Willow Warbler - one close to the hide and a further 3 between the new works and the railway line.

Both sandpipers were side by side when I first entered the hide but flew before i could get my camera out. however both reappeared along the far left bank after a few minutes.

Thanks for that will take a good look on my next visit.

I think (not 100% sure as learning on all levels of birding) that I heard 3 different Sedge Warblers singing constantly while walking along the Viking Way towards the works end of the site.

Great news with the Warblers returning eh?

No sign of Wood Sandpiper today 23/04/11 although the Green is still there. Lots of Sedge and Reed Warblers, heard one Grasshopper and saw plenty of Whitethroats.
