A flock of c60 Waxwings flew east over the Lincoln bypass at 10:20 this morning. They were just south of the Doddington roundabout.
I am sure Freddy will be able to relocate them.

Andy, you have no idea as to what a coincidence your post is. :o
I was just sitting down at the computer to type the following when I noticed your post "Waxwings 26/3"..... :

" Having dropped my wife off in the centre of Lincoln this morning at 11.15 (Sat), I was heading for the Outer Circle Road to check former Waxwing stakeouts when, at the 'Peacock Inn' traffic lights on the Wragby Road/Greetwell Road junction, a flock of 50-60 Waxwings flew overhead. As the lights remained at red for a minute or so, I was able to have a good look at them. They were heading away from the Lincoln Cathedral area and flew above Greetwell Road towards the Lincs County Hospital and possibly beyond. I toured around the Hospital network of roads, plus Allenby Road, Monks Road and the Arboretum but there was nothing to report and, further, no sign around the Outer Circle Road former stakeouts. "

Doubtless, your flock was also the one I saw at c 11.20 (certainly, the same approximate number) - having circled around, had probably fed somewhere locally and then headed for Lincoln itself. So, the good news is that there is still a Lincoln area Waxwing flock around but the question arises as to which feeding area they landed up at ? Hopefully, someone birding locally will come up with the answer. :D
Regards,

Freddy
