Driving to Waddington from BBH this morning (Monday), I passed a berry tree which I must have passed (and checked) dozens of times in the past few months .....but this time it was different with :

9 Waxwings.....

outside 80 Grantham Road BBH.
(birds there 11.00 going to W. and 11.25 return).

Hugh M.
Hope you got to see them after my 'phone call.

Regards,

Freddy

Thanks for the call Freddy - much appreciated. No sign at 3pm this afternoon nor in the immediate area. Will check again later and tomorrow.

Hugh,
I also drew a blank at Grantham Road on my way to and from Chambers Farm Wood this afternoon (1.15 and 3.10 - I just missed you -) but such is the uncertain pattern of Waxwing twitching success that we know so well this winter. :(
Still, as you say, there's always tomorrow. :D

Regards,

Freddy
