Judging largely by body plan thanks to a restricted view courtesy of bankside trees, I saw what I am almost certain was a bittern putting down in the reedbed at the back of the pit on the opposite side of the path from the marsh. I know they have been seen on the reserve previously and I was wondering if anyone else had seen one recently?
