A trip starting at appleby church lane, then on to broughton bridge, then wrawby, then settling down on bonby carrs, surprisingly produced very little in the way of raptors, several buzzards, several flocks of Fieldfares, around 50 and 100+golden plovers,at wrawby and 100+ fieldfares
at bonby carrs.kestrels everywhere!.
I dont very often shoot round like this,it hardly ever produces, the best way to get good raptors is still stakin" out a good potential spot and scan scan scan.
Ive not wasted my day as i love bonby Carrs, looks a great place to be,prefer it to worlaby,as it has more bushes great hedgerows trees etc(not been here for many years)not so much rough fields both sides the track but very rough areas on the right going down, looks great for a shrike, would be good in spring and autumn for raptor watching, you can see for miles.
Regards,
Rog.
