The Lincolnshire Bird Club

I visited the RSPB Marquee/Watchpoint today (Sun) from 11am - 12.30pm, situated this year by the Tennyson Statue as the birds have nested on the north side of the Tower.
During my visit, adult birds were seen perched on the Cathedral and circling above. The unfledged, solitary chick (c 4 weeks old) was seen on the nesting ledge.
Many thanks to the RSPB staff manning the Marquee (incl. Peter Skelson and Dave Satterthwaite) and providing info. and telescopes.
The RSPB Marquee will be manned every Saturday and Sunday between 11.00am and 4.00pm until 25 July.

Update Sat 26 Jun.

Called in again today at the Lincoln Cathedral RSPB Marquee/Watchpoint ( Peter Skelson and Eddie Chandler). The fledged juvenile (c 6-7weeks old and apparently sexed as a female) had been rescued earlier from ground zero and returned to the Cathedral heights. It was now perched, with the adult female in close attendance. The female took off once or twice and circled around but the male didn't show.

I was en route to Lincoln Castle to the special Armed Forces Day celebrations - a most enjoyable event packed with Service veterans (even including some of us Silver EnListers ( 1953 ), serving members and young cadets alike, welcoming the general public.

Update : Saturday 24 July

My third and final visit today to the Lincoln Cathedral RSPB Marquee/Watchpoint (incl. Peter Skelson and Dave Satterthwaite ).
All 3 birds (adult male, adult female and 11 week old female juvenile ) were perched on the Cathedral towers, showing very well more or less continuously from 2.30 - 3.00pm. ( today there was plenty of free parking on the Cathedral road running alongside the southern edges of the Cathedral).
The RSPB Marquee/Watchpoint facility - incl. telescopes - has been extended for a further week until 4.00pm Sunday 1 August.
