They turn up occasionally at boultham mere, but don't know if that would count as a city tick, and a bloke I work with asked if you can get white herons because I keep scaring one off the side of tritton road by the pedestrian railway crossing! Opposite the primary school. I assumed it was little egret,he hasn't seen it for a while.one will turn up after all we did have a night heron in the drain on the junction of newark road/doddington road about 6 yrs ago

April 2006 was when I saw the night heron

The nearest i have seen a little egret to the city was at the pit near Norton Disney (back side of Thurlby) I know they have been seen regularly at Whisby at Apex Pits

Nine is a good count as it doesn't seem that long ago that they were fairly rare. I remember waiting hours to see my first one at Titchwell.

I wonder what the record inland count is for Lincs is?

I remember going on holiday to hayle to see them, and I twitched 1 at chasewater staffs for my midland list when I lived there, and I'm not that old. I got quite excited when I got 1 as a patch tick at fiskerton about a year ago, came fairly close after black necked grebe and about 3 weeks before my whiskered tern and I was well pleased! Got it before grey heron as well, now the numbers rise every visit to fiskerton,at this rate I'll have a couple of hundred there by yrs end!

Hi

I visited Fiskerton Fen on the 16th a.m. and saw 1 Little Egret. But then on the Scrape there were 10 but they were very mobile. Over 40 Lapwings there too - nice to see

Malcolm.
