Whilst driving past Kirkby Pits around lunchtime today, Barn Owl hunting across the road near pit North of tip. What I thought was weird was it was raining! I thought they didn't like the rain??

Tonight passing the South pits, Tawny Owl flew across the road at about 9pm.

john barn owls seem to be very common now, 4 of us went to norfolk sunday titchwell, holme, wells, holkham and we saw a minimum of 8 birds and possibly 10 all in daylight hours and even allowing for not much food about hence daylight hunting, thats a lot off barn owls but a very welcome sight indeed. probably the most owls i have seen in a single day in my lifetime :D :D :D

terry whalin :D
