Three separate sightings @ 07.10 08.00 and 11.50 Certainly by the noise and the time taken to pass over the second flock was the largest. Regrettably counts made impossible by the thick fog. General direction was NW. Last years departure numbers were about 1800 on 14/02/09 flying NW in 5 separate skeins, but more or less all together @ 07.30 A sighting from just to the north of Lincoln last year placed them some 55 minutes later. Allowing for some slight "arithmetical drift" we reckoned that they had averaged 45mph
