Just had a yg / juv Gannet over the airfield, came in from the North, departed to the South, then went SW towards Tattershall!

Had good views from 100yds - could'nt believe what I was seeing, initally dimissed it coming in as a Cormorant until I saw it properly close up!

No-one will believe an inland Gannet surely.

Hi,
I had one juv fly past my bedroom window one year,saw it coming from the north,ran downstairs,got back up with my bins,to bin it going over berkeley school heading south(about 50 yards away ),was a fair old fog,but no doubt about it juv gannet flying eventually up the kingsway.im in scunny.

john, tony macey a good friend of mine once ferried a gannet from ogston res in derbyshire to skeggy where it was successfully released from its temp home (cat carrying basket i think) after a couple of tins of sardines,

terry whalin :D :wink:
