A motorbike ride in the early afternoon produced the following goodies.
I stopped when I spotted a small raptor being relentlessly mobbed by a Rook near Lenton. It turned out to be a Merlin which after a few twists and turns quite easily evaded the much larger persuer. A mile further down the road towards Folkingham a flock of about 30 Golden Plovers wheeled over a fallow field. Also in the general area 3 Common Buzzards (3 near Old Somerby and 1 near Bitchfield) and 3 Kestrels.
