Credit due to John Shaughnessy for finally pinning down the greenish warbler that was first seen briefly on Sunday and reported again yesterday.
From 1420, until at least 1730, it was showing from the track that runs along the southern perimeter of the Plantation. paralell with the flood bank.
Access (from the visitor centre car park and back past the flood barrier) is through the wooden gate and past the small building.

The greenish was calling frequently around 1500 but quieter later. It did show well and was coming down from the canopy regularly to feed in the bare branches at head height about half way between the gate and the hide. There were only up to three birders watching it and good views were obtained with care and patience.

Also here 2 redstart, pied fly, 2 chiff. 4 song thrush, 4 blackcap, 5 robin.

Spent at least 3 hours looking for this bird on Monday - not a sniff?

Was it associated with a tit flock?

Hi Andy

3 hours clearly not enough - John spent around 10 hours around this area over the three days, potentially missing out on some good seawatching as a result.

The bird was only loosely with a chiff or two and a few blue tits, but mostly doing its own thing.

I have no news on it this morning but I know a acouple of people are looking.
