If Carlsberg did seawatches this would be it - probably the best we've ever seen at Witham Mouth/Freiston Shore....

Cory's shearwater - one close inshore past Witham Mouth and then north close past Freiston Shore at 13.20
Leach's petrel - two. One close inshore over the mudflats past Freiston Shore.
Sabine's gull - juvenile ca. 12.55
Pomarine skua - 44. One group of 18, which included 16 adults with spoons were offshore for about 2 hours
Arctic skua - 19
Great skua - 12
Roseate tern - two adults
Manx shearwater - 256 (one flock of 210)
Kittiwake - 65
Shag - 1
Marsh harrier - 2
Peregrine - 1

No mention of the King Eider - was it "eclipsed" by the other birds?

I didn't see the King Eider all afternoon. This was mainly due to the proliferation of other stuff, but also the extreme distance of the eiders and the choppy state of the water. Others saw it before i arrived though, and i certainly saw it at 6am this morning when the water was much calmer.

There was only a single Pom reported from Sheringham, with few others on the NN Coast, the most parsimonious explanation would be that the Poms were stalling before making the trans-England Severn-Wash crossing (alternatively they could have gone back north). None were reported from the Cambs 'seawatch' site at Foul Anchor, but then maybe you need rain here to bring them low or maybe no-one had a go yesterday. Did you see any head of inland?

Shades of the great Witham Mouth seawatches from some years ago.... am very envious!

Poms were moving south past Chapel Pt yesterday evening. 17 in total with one group of 6. All with spoons. 12 dark phase, 5 pale phase.
Sooties moving south as well.

The group of Pomarine Skuas increased to 23 and they plus a single Arctic Skua headed off in the direction of Hunstanton about 18:40 - we did not see them land on the wash again.
