I flushed a Little Egret from the Sambre beck this afternoon , this is a small beck which runs through Apley / Stainfield area , near Wragby.
Reporting this not so much for the bird but for the unexpected location , appears they can turn up almost anywhere nowadays ?

They are now in very good numbers inland in the south of the county. Up to 31 are roosting at Deeping Lakes, with 15+ feeding in dykes at Baston & Langtoft Pits. Not long before they are everywhere, I imagine.
