Went with Dad for about an hour or so 14:00 - 15:00

SPECIES SEEN:

White-fronted Goose - 6
Pintail - 2
Mallard - 5
Little Egret - 1
Redshank - 8
Curlew - 3 calling

Goldfinch - 1 seen on way there
Fieldfare - 5
Pheasant - 1 m, 1 f in fields
Robin hopping around the car park

USUALS

Collared Dove
Woodpigeon
Carrion Crow
Rook
Magpie - 9

After getting in the car, I muttered to dad about it being a pity Barn Owls were being elusive. Then, 30 seconds later, a white shape appears from the left and it's a Barn Owl!!!! Much ironic giggling ensued!

I might have seen some Twite but I am not confident enough to give myself a life tick for it. They were round the car park bushes.

Brief call at Westgate Woods on way back - 2 Brown Hare

PS - Long-tailed Tits were back in the garden at lunchtime!

A large flock of twite were around the lagoon between the completed hide and the one being constructed round about the time you were there Katherine. Unfortunately for your life list there was also a flock of goldfinches too, so you might have seen those! By the way, if you parked up by the gate may I apologise for my car being parked the wrong way, taking up at least three places. There was no-one else there when we arrived and I'd never been before so didn't know.
