grainthorpe haven 12.00 - 14.20 hrs approx 2hrs plus of relaxing watching leaning on the sea wall not a soul to be seen apart from several farm workers harvesting and lots of good birds too.
osprey perched on the last warning sign from pyes hall dyke, the dark one that leans over. the bird just sat preening and a short quick flight then back for further preening ( must have been a female ) all that time making itself pretty. If it had been a male a quick shave would due then off to the pub. Was still sat when i left at 14.20 hrs.
Also 2 female marsh harrier 3 wheatear 4 little egret 2 flocks starlings approx 600 total 2 flocks golden plover 300 lapwing 50 in the outfall common sand 5 dunlin 2 greenshank several redshank curlew 2 grey heron 5 kestrel at least 2 juvs amongst them
on the newly tilled field near the farmhouse large mixed flock wagtails, approx figures 30-40 yellow wags 50 pied wags 7 greenfinch 5 goldfinch sparrows 3 wheatear the flock was feeding on the tilled field and the newly cut verges and batheing on the roadside puddles also little owl
a good couple of hrs from the frozen north,
