A single adult swift exited from its nestsite under a pantile on my house at lunchtime today. This was the first sighting for 6 days when the last few stragglers appeared to have departed. The bulk of my small colony which I estimate to be some 6/7 pairs departed over a fortnight ago.

Having not been seen since thursday morning an adult was observed entering the nestsite with a food bolus this afternoon.
single late birds are hard to note as apart from the entering and exiting the roof these birds do not linger and forage around the colony. The only reason I saw this one was because I happened to be working in the garden and the gusty wind was causing the bird difficulty in it's approach to the pantile and needed a few abortive attempts.
