Asked around to ID a 'colourful' bird nesting in a friends garden, and this is what I find - anyone help me with an ID? In flight it had a bright red rump.......
Its nesting in an apple tree, and it has young!

I have found out that it is a Red-rumped Parrot (Psephotus haematonotus) - from SE Australia! I will report if the chick's fledge! Andrew |
