Post subject:  Black swans - Bourne

Not strictly escapes but the pair of black swans at the Wellhead, Bourne (released earlier this year -see below) now have 4 cygnets (seen by me 23rd November); a third adult black swan is still present on St Peter's Pool. Enough to make the local news: http://www.stamfordmercury.co.uk/news/l ... -1-4520421.

Note this pair of swans were released this year when the previous 3 birds were reduced to a single swan http://www.bournelocal.co.uk/news/local ... -1-3847181. I didn't record any breeding of this (non-native) RBBP species during the Atlas period other than mating and nest building.
