It is now six months since I was accused of breaking the law and of taking photographs without a licence. I have made a number of requests on this forum for an explanation as to exactly what law I was breaking and what licence I should have had in order to take photographs. My membership of the LBC expires to-day but I fully intend to be photographing the birds in question if they return next spring and I am sure that many members of the club and others will be doing the same. It would have been useful for their benefit to have a full explanation of the law relating to photographing these birds and precise details of the licence requirements. It didn't really surprise me (and probably won't surprise the majority of members) that I didn't get any explanation or any apology

I wish all the genuine birders in the LBC a Very Happy New Year and to those who do not know and understand the law I suggest you do some homework before you make further false accusations and drive more honest and useful members from the Club.

This time it is Goodbye!

Trevor

Trevor, I have to take you to task on this. Russell Hayes made enquiries of Natural England and published his findings which you read. I put you on to an authority on the subject and you chose not to contact him. Some of us tried hard to clarify the legal position re photography of Schedule 1 breeding species so you can't say we didn't try to help you - you chose not to get off your high horse and accept it. Happy New Year.
