I just went to see if a certain woodland species has bred again, the place is deluged with grey squirrels, arguably UK's top predator/pest.
No sign of feathered quarry and no wonder !!
It really is time something drastic was done about this critter, what use is a bird reserve with no birds ??

I'm with you on this one Colin - unfortunately, despite the historic culling of the Grey by the millions it has been shown that this had no effect on the population increase whatsoever and has been deemed a great waste of money/resource - the Grey is one very successful, highly adaptable critter that appears to be here to stay whether we like it or not :cry: I think that only Mother Nature, time and a freak mutant virus would possibly reverse this trend.

It surely cannot be beyond the wit and wisdom of a switched on biologist to come up with some kind of a bait that will make em infertile, if we can go to the moon etc...
