We are pleased to report that Chris finally had his operation on Tuesday. =D> He is doing reasonably well, just a couple of hitches that have been sorted. He is still a bit tired but has been out of bed and taking a bit of exercise. At the moment his family do not know when he will be coming home but apparently the hospital stay is usually a week to ten days.

We are sure you will join us in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Regards
Sheila and Colin

That is good news and I'm sure everyone sends best wishes. Chris does a huge amount for LBC. For the bird report, he has written more than almost everyone else for the past couple of issues, turning data into species entries with commendable speed. The long delay before the operation benefited the 2015 report; he kept taking more on as the wait extended! And now, with perfect timing, he'll be home ready for the start of work on the 2016 report, which is just around the corner. (Hope that doesn't make you want to stay in hospital, Chris.)

Just replied to a text from Chris in which he said that he is coming on well and that he hopes to be home tomorrow or Monday.
I trust that all continues well and that we soon see him up and about again.

Thanks to you all for your support and good wishes. I did indeed arrive home from Glenfield around tea time on Monday which meant I had been away from home for a remarkable one week and one hour. Non of the patients recovering from their tribulations in the theatre at that time would have dreamt that possible especially as the cure felt far worse than the original problem. But now I have have a few hours sleep in my own bed, something to eat that I enjoyed and even a bottle of beer. All I need at present is someone to readjust my body clock and for Mike Tyson to stop incessantly hammering away at my rib cage. You may not see in the East Dunes at Gib Point just yet and I will non be strolling the seawall at Frampton March this weekend but I am certainly working on building up strength and endurance towards that aim thanks to the skills of a remarkable set of people from my team of the year - GLENFIELD, LEICESTER
