While walking home along the river Slea yesterday Sheila and I witnessed behaviour from a Carrion Crow that we have never seen or heard of before. The crow swooped down to the river and tried to snatch a duckling from the water. The duckling dived to escape the crow which then flew up into a tree and was in turn attacked by a furiously 'rattling' Mistle Thrush. The crow chased the thrush but failed to catch it. The duckling and its siblings seemed quite unconcerned.

Regards,

Colin and Sheila

About ten years ago at Ruskington - I watch a pair of crows eat two young ducklings from my office window. Not quite the happy ending you had Colin & Sheila.
