I'm just curious to know what the biggest total of birds seen by one person is in a year in Lincolnshire alone? Who was it and how many?

I recall that Keith Scott (now deceased) put in a major effort one year, rather like a full time job, and got 241. But my memory may be at fault and I'm sure someone else will be able to remember...

Cheers John

Harlequin was a stunner. Great blue Heron is a boat to far for me sadly.

It's also just a very scruffy heron!

I have just found a mini-report that Keith Scott gave me about his Lincs year list attempt from 2002 - he saw 247 species.

I know he made another attempt the following year ( I remember how ecstatic hew as when I helped him finally pin down a wood warbler at Gib !), but I don't know the final total achieved.

Hi Kev, why don't you pass that report of Keith Scott's to Andy Chick so we can post it on the website somewhere. He was a lovely chap and it would be a fitting memorial. It will then give all comers like Anthony something to aim at. I did a Lincs year list in 1986 and got 209 so I know that getting 247 must have been bloody hard work!
