After advice for a new scope and binos. Anybody got a good second hand optical scope for sale? Along the lines of 80mm front lens and HD glass eg. Swarovski 80HD, Carl Zeiss, Leica?

Anyone have experience with 12 x 45's binos? I know 12 is not good close in but have been looking at Zeiss 12 x 45's as they are in my budget range.

Cheers

Have a look at the Hawke 10x43 ed bins at c 320£ there very good and focus to 2m and are light weight. Hawke also do a very good (optically) range of ed scopes 65mm and 80mm again at
c 350 to 600 £. (i would suggest the 12x45 will not be as good in poor light).
www.uttingsoutdoors.co.uk tel 01603 619811 are the one of the best supplier re prices
hope this is of use John, regards John

John / Dean,

Thanks for replies - will research Hawke. I went to LCE last weekend and came so close to parting with £2275 on the Swarovski 80HD scope with 25-50x lens. Accountant reigned me in though and a lot of money to justify in current climate, hence second hand mint option could be justifiable?

Anyway thanks for advice - revised bino specs to 10x42's max.

Regards,

I got a pair of Opticron Savanna binos (8x23) as a free gift for joining the BTO at the 2010 Birdfair! Hardly ever been without them since!

Thanks to all for the information provided, I currently have Opticron binos (Countryman 8x42) and scope (GS815 with 20x60 zoom) which have faired we well over 3 years now and are still good.

Hoping to upgrade on a budget rather than pay expensive new prices.

Many thanks again all.
