And we had 6 starlings giveing good views for some 25 seconds flying in a south easterly direction, Neil noted one was a good 10ft behind the others at one point, although i could not confirm this, as i looked back they had reformed there grouping .
Now this is most likely owing to a speed up of the trailing bird or a slowing down of the 5 Im drawn to conclude the trailing bird did indeed speed up but unless further infomation comes forward i carnt be sure .

I wonder if anyone at pie's Hall saw them and has a view on this ? iv yet to see if there were any further sightings but im sure if there was reports would have been given.
All in all a day day out :)
Rob.

I'm pretty confident that lots of people saw lots of starlings today. Certainly there were some around Louth!

Rob,

Sorry, but when I saw your post re Starlings the first thing I did was to check the time-line. I was genuinely surprised to see " 6.59pm " rather than an hour in the very early morning, which is when someone usually starts a meandering and totally irrelevant thread.

Further, I would suggest that the sense of humour displayed in the entry as posted on a birding website might well rate as 'rare' or even 'mega' in its obliqueness; so, I certainly don't consider any other contributor to this thread (which began with a standard bird report) is lacking or missing out on a personal genuine sense of humour. On the other hand, was there a hidden agenda target in your post, but directed at what ?

As it's migration time, I think this thread, quite rightly, should now migrate at the speed of a CERN neutrino to " Bird Chat " where it belongs - despite the initial pertinent and interesting bird report as contributed by Dave.

As noted by Dave i was with him :) He simply did not mention the Starlings although i can confirm at one point he was faceing due south west at or around the time of the said Starlings aproch this could be why he missed them off the report as they were not vocal at this time.

Im sure Dave had they been vocal would have picked them well before me even though he was faceing the other way .

Starlings - who cares there all over the place No need to report them, my post is just a little humours Starling post ( they were there though )
