While walking into the village on wedensday I heard a cuckoo, nice to hear ahven't really heard him much this year only the 3rd time I heard him. so followed the call as I got closer well 1/4 of a mile. he called againd but as he finshed his call another call started? the second call sounded a little further away. I was wondering could this be the same bird calling continuously? Or another bird maybe a female calling with him? Thanks Anthony |

Females do not make the "cuckoo" call, they make a bubbling sound, so probably the original bird moved further away. |
