As someone new to actually collating the birds I see I was wondering what the general attitude was in the wider birdng community to birds seen on the WWT sites. The reason I'm asking is that in a few weeks we're taking a holiday in Sussex, and as well as taking in a day at Pulborough Brooks we're thinking of going to the WWT's Arundel site.

Do others who have been to similar sites "tick" all species, or just those that aren't part of a WWT breeding programme, in this case like the Nene Goose?

I hope this isn't a daft question, but it struck me that while there is some parts of WWT that is as natural as an RSPB reserve, there are others that are a bit like a zoo.

I may be alone on this Forum but I don't "tick" anything or have "lists". I just enjoy watching birds and contributing to scientific data by ringing.

Do what ever you think, enjoying the day is what counts, so good luck.

Don't forget to put your report on the Non Lincs Section for all to read.

Kind regards

John
