Work is just begining on habitat creation and new car parking in the area from Six Marsh up to Wolla Bank, this will entail meandering ditches with variable angles of slope and also some pathways and eventually interpretation panels, the water levels will eventually be raised and the plan is that this are will have a mosiac of wet grassland, and wet and dry reedbed. At Wolla Bank sssi part of the site will be lowered by as much as 1 metre to create wet reedbed for at least the winter/spring and a pathway will be established linking the car park to Anderby along the rearside of the dune, this will be fenced to keep dogs from entering the wet grassland adjacent. This is all part of the country park project, and i for one commend those that have worked towards this over the past 3 years regards John. |

I thought you had Cleethorpes country park Dave ? , and all that dreadful saltmarsh the councill so hate !, and a pier , what more do you want ? ( a birdzone do hear you mumble) Yes Chris it will be a couple of years for the new habitats to settle in but given enough rain to increase the water levels now the sluice has been established and raised on the main drain the raw open areas will be atractive to migrants i hope, and eventually to some interesting breeding species. regards John. |
