Need help again please to continue my Linc's sites education.

One often hears or reads bird reports from Pyes Hall and the Donna Nook area, including Quads 1,2 & 3.

Now I understand that when refering to these 'Quad' areas, they are denoted by the 3 RAF towers.
But can someone please explain exactly where Quad 1,2 & 3 start & finish?

I had presumed that Quad 1 Started at the main tower & moving south. Quad 1 ended at tower 2 and so on......
If that is how it works, then where does Quad 3 end please?

If not. Many thanks In anticipation... :D

Derrick,
You've got the gist of it. I think these are loose definitions with no set boundaries but relate to the adjacent tower. I suggest you speak to Steve Lorand who surveys the site daily - if anyone can tell you a definitive answer it will be Steve.

Quad 1 is the look-out building at Stonebridge, Quad 2 is the look-out south of the coastguard cottages and main base and Quad 3 is the southernmost look-out opposite the private Red Farm track which runs out from Ark Road. The boundaries are plotted within the bombing range by the RAF, but are of relevance to the MOD only.
