A synchronised emergence of Ruddy Darter today numbering over a hundred individuals was about 2 weeks earlier than normal.

Also very good numbers of Emerald Damselfly (>100 individuals) also on the wing. Again this is about 2 weeks early for Whisby.

Four-spotted Chasers and Black-tailed Skimmers everywhere at the mo.

Rather belatedly, the first Emperors for Whisby were last Friday,9th June, with sev records since.

I assume that the hot and humid conditions over the last week have had some bearing on Odonata emergence, particularly regards the early records.
