Hi

For those that do not read the Latest Sightings page of the British Dragonfly Society website, Kevin Durose found several scarce chaser Libellula fulva on the New South Eau near Throckenholt and Cloughs Cross North Level Main Drain on 21st June.

This arrival has been expected for a few years so it is good to have its presence confirmed.

Kevin was also the first to see white-legged damselfly Platycnemis pennipes in Lincolnshire (Stamford Meadows). Dave Mainwaring reported the latter species further down the River Welland near Deeping Lakes SSSI (LWT) in June.

Thanks

Nick

I won't hold my breath Brian, neither species have moved away from their core breeding areas in East Anglia, apart from the odd extra limital records of Willows near to Norwich.

Steve.
