This afternoon I found a male Lesser Emperor at Messingham Sand Quarries. It was watched hawking insects along an area close to the duck hide and seen down to just a few feet away,so the blue saddle on S2 and brownish abdomen were seen very well.Unfortunately it decided to do a bunk and flew onto the main lake and despite searching I couldn't relocate it and no photos were obtained...but a very pleasing record all the same after all the hours put in over the last 15 years recording and photographing odonata.
Regards,
Steve.
