just 6 Black Darters at Laughton today and only one Southern Hawker and one Emerald Damsel on a nice day -- added Red-eyed damselfly to the forest species list in late June but there is a notable lack of Common Hawkers and only 4 spots and Azure Damsels seem to be doing well; it is incredibly wet now but after 2 years of drought all of the ponds were virtually bone dry in March and there was very little water last summer autumn so that will presumably have impacted badly on local breeders

Generally Dragons, like Graham has said are right down in numbers, with for instance my max count of Hairy D at Messingham this spring has been 6,compared to 52 last year, but due to them being later emerging iam still seeing them on the wing with 1 male y.day, when their flight season is usually well over by now.Large dragons seem to be in decent numbers up to now at MSQ,with at least 6 S.Hawker and 33 Brown Hawker y.day, but only 1 Emperor up to now.

Regards,

Steve.
