Not a bad few hours here today in the company of a couple of Sheffield lads,this is what we saw:

3 teneral male Southern Hawker
4 male Hairy Dragonfly
7 Four-spot Chaser
1 male Black-tailed Skimmer
and smaller numbers of the common damselflies,including 5 male Red-eyed Damsel's.

Lots of dragons on the wing today in the roasting conditions,this is what we saw:

9 Brown Hawker
7 male Emperor
24 Four-spot Chaser
26 Black-tailed Skimmer
1 male Hairy Dragonfly

A total of 11 species recorded today.

July 1st

Black-tailed Skimmer - 1 pr
Four-spot Chaser - 2
Common Blue Damsel - loads
Blue-tailed damsel - quite a few
Dragons - 3 [ no ID too far away ]

July 12th: afternoon

Lots of dragons but they fly too fast or are too high for an ID it is so irritating!!!!!!

Excellent numbers of dragon's around the reserve today,this is what i saw:

30 Brown Hawker
40 Black-tailed Skimmer
11 Common Darter
1 male Hairy Dragonfly(My latest personal record).
2 Ruddy Darter
3 Southern Hawker
1 Four-spot Chaser

10 species in total.

Decent numbers of odonata around the reserve today,included the following counts:

16 Brown Hawker
6 Southern Hawker
1 Teneral male Migrant Hawker(My first of the year).
15 Common Darter
2 Ruddy Darter
