Anybody any idea about who discovered/reported this please??

None of the Gib regulars seem to know anything about it!!!!

Just an update on this bird - I didnt put the news out immediately, as the id wasnt 100% and I didnt want the bird flushed by a crowd and I didnt want to spend the afternoon on the phone untl I had achieved good views. The location was away from a public area and viewing the site from all angles was very difficult - giving rise to problems with viewing into the sun.

I did call David Wright, the only other birder that I knew was on site, to help look but he did not arrive until after 5 and it hadnt shown for about 90 mins by that time and he did not see it.

Unfortunately, there was no chance of trapping it despite being adjacent to a mist net ride.

Despite immense patience and fieldcraft, the bird only showed for a matter of seconds throughout.
It did show a wing panel - which ultimately put me off melodious......until I looked on the birdguides photo selection !
