I note that the Glossy Ibis and the Cattle Egret don't seem to have been reported recently. Does anybody know if they are still about?

Chris,
The Glossy Ibis was last reported by "Birdguides" as having been seen at the usual Howden's Pullover site on Tuesday 18th March.
The last report of a Lincs Cattle Egret sighting appears to be the Lincs Bird Reports post via Andrew Chick on Tuesday 11th March at Howdales near Skidbrooke.

Regards,

Freddy

John,
That's great news re the continuing presence of the Cattle Egret in Lincs - having seen nothing on the web since the 11th March report, I thought it had moved on.
Re the Glossy Ibis:
Roger Parsons (rparsons@enterprise.net) - and he is hoping to boost his weekly FREE membership Natural History website, including a Roger Goy "column", from the present c800 to a figure of 1000 ...... so, why not log on and enrol now! - reports via "Bird News from FOCALPOINT" that the Glossy Ibis was sighted at the usual Howden's Pullover site on Wed 19th March - one day later than the last "Birdguides" report.

Regards,

Freddy

John,
Just a thought - you have double- checked that the bird isn't, in fact, a Little Egret? Identification in separating the two species can be tricky in some circumstances. Anyway, the photos should help once you get them onto the web.

Regards,

Freddy
