I was asked if I could help with this worthwhile event but I am, unfortunately, otherwise engaged. If any LBC members can offer help with Photos, talks guided walks etc please contact the organisers or just turn up at the weekend to show support.

Mablethorpe & Sutton Tourism Forum
Mablethorpe Wild Coast Festival

Mablethorpe and Sutton Tourism Forum working in line with some of the recommendations from the Bowles Green and Red 22 report have a vision for a Wild Coast Festival to be held in Mablethorpe every year.

Mablethorpe Tourism Forum along with selected partners are working towards leading the way in environmentally friendly, sustainable and responsible eco tourism on this unique stretch of the East Coast, valuing the coastal environment whilst still being able to enjoy its unique rich and diverse habitat and wildlife. The Wild Coast Festival will focus on promoting ‘ Mablethorpe as the Gateway to the Wild Coast ’ by ……..

Capturing the existing tourism interest (i.e. Donna Nook) in the area and spreading it down the coast to Mablethorpe.

Protecting the fragile coastal environment by providing creative ways of accessing the activities (Seal births via camera links to a venue in Mablethorpe etc) without having to go to the specific location; these activities will be based in and around Mablethorpe.

Celebrating our coastal wildlife, flora and fauna through art, photography, video, talks and interactive sessions on related topics by people who are passionate and knowledgeable about this coastal stretch in hubs/centres around Mablethorpe.

Encouraging tourists and local residents to be aware of their carbon footprint and their impact on fragile environments (something we hope will be passed down through the generations) through a series of park and ride opportunities, walking/biking trails and sea transport using Mablethorpe as the base.

Encouraging being close to nature and the natural environment without damaging it by following a trail of activities set up in hub/centres around Mablethorpe that focus on the Wild Coast and what it has to offer.

Developing an educational model of sustainable, environmentally friendly eco tourism through projects with youth groups in and around Mablethorpe.

Encouraging businesses in Mablethorpe to diversify (different merchandise etc) and extend what they offer to tie in with the theme of Wild Coast, attracting business out of high season.
