I was saddened to learn that Ron passed away recently. Many of you will remember Ron when he maintained the bird feeding station at Chambers Farm Wood and was there virtually every day. The old visitor centre was always open and many birders and butterfly enthusiasts shared a yarn and a cuppa with Ron. I worked there for ten years and learned a lot from him - he was one of life's true Gentlemen. If anyone wishes to pay their respects, his funeral is at Lincoln Crematorium at 1150 on Thursday 5th October.

Sad news, indeed, Stuart. Ron was always so helpful and he clearly loved the days he spent at Chambers Farm Wood. We were fortunate to have such a dedicated nature-loving colleague as Ron.
Special wishes and condolences to his brother Derek - another dedicated nature-lover.

Freddy
