Unfortunately, public access has been closed to an area of scrubland at the back of Grimsby Town FC which sometimes attracted shrikes and other scarce migrants (including a bluethroat a few years back).

The land is owned by ports company ABP which has successfully blocked authorisation of a long-established (but unofficial) public right of way.

The birds will still come, but it probably won't be easy to see them.

For anyone interested, I have blogged more info and pics of the site at http://www.thewryneck.blogspot.co.uk
