Unfortunately, the scrubland site (near Grimsby Town FC) where a red-backed shrike was an attraction in August last year has now become almost inaccessible for checking on migrants. :(

Landowners ABP have installed additional palisade fencing and more Keep Out notices. There is also CCTV so any "trespasser" is likely to be nabbed by a security officer.

A group of nearby residents have been trying to get a long-established footpath through the site confirmed as a pedestrian right of way but this is being opposed by ABP, so the prospects look iffy.

There was a public inquiry, held today and yesterday, at Grimsby Town Hall, I have blogged a report from the first day at http://www.thewryneck.blogspot.co.uk
