At far Ings today & two black and white ducks/waders landed as I drove down the road to new-ish visitor place..they weren't avocet so is smew a possibility?

Wasn't neither of those two mentioned..
I remember brownish top of head which ran down the back of neck..never mind.
..note to oneself..keep spare camera in car & learn more birds instead of just watching little owls!
