Just returned (along with a merry band of 5 other Lincs birders) from an enjoyable 2 weeks birding in the Long Point, Point Pelee & Algonquin areas of Canada.
213 species were seen during the trip including 31 wood warblers.
Warbler highlights included seeing the rare Kirtland's Warbler, as well as the attractive Cerulean, Prothonotary, Magnolia, Prairie & Blackburnian Warblers.
American Avocet, Willet, Stilt Sandpiper, & summer-plumaged American Golden Plover were amongst the star waders.
We also had Gray Jays landing on our hands to take food & a Spruce Grouse that you could almost touch.

Mammal highlights were Racoon coming to food as well as close views of Beaver & Moose.

A special mention for the Canadian birders we came across who were all very helpful and pointed us in the right direction for numerous species.

Canada is fully recommended!

regards

Chris
with the other Lincs birders on tour - Howard Bunn, Alan Daws, Adrian Royle (aka Dipper), John Spring & Dave Wright

For those of you with a spare hour or so I've put together an album of photos from our Canada trip. Be warned though there is everything on it, from ketchup bottles to trucks and if you look carefully you should see some birds in amongst the 300+ photos.
