can this actually be for real? -- well yes taken from the http://www.birdingwire.com/ is this really 2013 in the richest country in the world?

With reports of a federally protected whooping crane sighting at Sloughs Wildlife Management Area near Henderson, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is reminding hunters to be cautious when hunting sandhill cranes during the new open season for that species.

the mighty dollar rules everything in the us, if the money is right they permit jusl about anything. a further sad incidence of our so called humanity and civilisation. :x :x

Sad and despicable. I wouldn't want to place a large bet on the safe passage of the Whooping Crane.
