Post subject:  Italy Ski Trip

We have just returned from a great ski trip to Pila in the Aosta Valley, NW Italy. Two days away from the slopes walking in the nearby woods and tracks produced:-

10+ Nutcrackers
10+ Crested Tits
2+ Willow Tits (2 seen, others heard)
20+ Coal Tits
5 Jay
1 GSW
1 Alpine Accentor (All of the details seemed OK but the first I've seen) (Dunnock like, grey head with a reddish tinge to the underside)
10+ Crossbills
4+ Ravens over the 7 days
A few sparrows with full red-brown crowns and a white supercilium that I took to be the Italian variety of the House Sparrow. ??

Regards

Dave & Linda
