A trip up the Yorkshire Coast today resulted in some excellant birds being seen, after some easterly winds at last!!,this is what we saw:

Bempton RSPB.
Male Subalpine Warbler(Showing very well, although a bit flighty).
1 Waxwing
quite a lot of Blackbirds and Goldcrest here also, but no sibe Phyllosc's.

Old Fall Hedge/Plantation
1 Waxwing
1 ist winter Red-breasted Flycatcher(What a little poser this bird was, showing very well).
1 Pallas's Warbler(with Goldcrest's,again showing brilliantly,what a stunning species).
female Blackcap
3 Chiffchaff
2 Brambling
1 juv. Merlin

Outer Head-Lighthouse
1 Great-grey Shrike(Observed in usual shrike style, atop a Hawthorn, and observed in flight).
1 female Stonechat
1 Yellow Wagtail(looked like a female Grey-headed type),my latest personal record.

What a cracking day, hopefully there will be more to come next week.
