Called on way home for a few hours. Asked at visitor centre if the owls were showing, the little had been but the long-eared hadn't. I was told where they had been yesterday. In total saw 32 species of bird, the following were the highlights: Little Owl - 1 [sat on post in the meadow behind the centre] Black Swan - 1 [flying over the lake directly east of visitor centre] Tree Creeper - 1 [ next to visitor centre] Tree Sparrow - 4 Was told that the hide at Linn Dyke had been replaced, the former one had been burnt down, they now have a metal one and I went in and checked it out. One good thing there is no glass, it's all metal! Maybe if any in Lincs gets burnt down they could replace it with a metal one, it's certainly something for those in charge to think about. Regards |

Pleased you saw the little owl. Pity the long eared wasn't about. On Tuesday had my best ever views - preening in full view. |
