I trust that the Rose-breasted Grosbeak has vanished into thin air. I would like to know how likely that there will be another.

RSVP, thanks, Al.

Hi Al,

First of all I think that the Rose-breasted Grosbeak could possibly still be around on the Scilly Isles but there are not many visiting birders there now to search it out.
This species was recorded 20 times in Britain during the period 1958-2003 so it shows up, on average, less than one year in two. However, it seems to have become more scarce in recent years, as have some of the other vagrants from North America.

Roy.
