 Post subject: Scarboro' and Filey.

A visit to my home county today,produced a good day's birding,the following birds were seen:

Scarboro'
1 Little auk(north along marine drive)
1 male Peregrine(sun-bathing,on the cliff face above marine drive).
3 Med. Gull's(2 adult,1 2nd winter),in Holbeck car-park.


Filey Brigg.
6 Little auk
1 Pom. Skua(south)
4 Velvet Scoter(all female's)
1 female Long-tailed Duck
1 Great-northern Diver(south)
18 Purple Sandpiper
8 Eider
100 Pink-footed Geese(south).

An altogether excellant day.

Another visit to my home county again,produced more goodies in the form of the following:
Scarboro'
1 juv/1st winter Black-throated Diver(Watched in the harbour,giving excellant views,a cracking bird!).
3 Mediterranean Gull's(2 adult's and a 2nd winter),in Holbeck car-park,there has been up to 4 here.

Filey Brigg
3 Drake Long-tailed Duck(The male of this species really take some beating),giving excellant views as thay fed with the 650 strong flock of Common Scoter present.


An excellant days birding,with Dave Wright and Nigel Genn.
