Post subject: | Flamborough Seawatch. |
Spent a good 12 and a half hrs seawatching today at Flamborough, and had one of the best watches i have had in Yorkshire, and not really in perfect conditions, the following birds where the best of the bunch: 1 Adult Sabines Gull, north with Kittiwakes 152 Sooty Shearwater north. 3 Pom Skuas, including a cracking adult with full tail spoons. 1 Great Shearwater, north,at about mid-distance,what a stonker!! 54 Manx Shearwater north. 1036 Pink-footed Geese south. 1 White-morph Snow Goose, south with a flock of 87 Pinkies, which is now residing at Holkham in Norfolk, according to the pager service,a truly un-expected bonus to a cracking day. Other species seen where smaller numbers of Little Gulls,Arctic Skuas,Bonxies,2nd wint Med. Gull etc. Regards Steve, with Chris Atkin. |
